Religious Battles Continue Today
Throughout history, there have been wars between Jews, Christians, and Muslim. These religious wars stem from the threat of losing followers to the other religion or clashing beliefs. These differences in beliefs turn the peaceful teachings into directions for war. Religious wars, or holy wars, have been documented as early as in the bible. Today we still have acts of terrorism driven by differences.
Throughout Barack Obama's presidency, he has called for Jews, Muslims, and Christians to work together. Recently, Pope Francis declared that he wants all Christians to stand with Jews as they share a common religious sense. |
Student Loan Debt
According to the Washington Post, the US has dropped from the country with the most college graduates to number 12. In the last 30 years, the cost of public tuition has tripled, while the average family income has just about stayed the same. 70 percent students graduate college with debt. Unlike mortgages or other types of debt, student loan debt can not be refinanced. When students graduate, ideally they would be spending money to help the economy, instead, they are unable to buy homes and end up battling debt for many years.
